A New Year... 2017. Rejoice 2016.

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year....

It was a huge year here at Cookie Queen Kitsch'n which was evident in that I had zero time to blog after January break, disppointing in my lack of time, great from a business point of view.

We were supported very well again in 2016 by our great onseller and pop up party company that we love working with - All In All Parties - be sure to check them out for all your party needs.  Lisa and her team specialise in Pop Up Party Packages in a number of inclusions, our recommendation is the "Sit Back & Relax" Package and they take care of all of your event needs and you literally sit back and relax.  2016 saw us work with All in All Parties at least twice a month or more and we created some fabulous tables with them, from Superheros, to Masterchef, to Princess to Pool Parties! The sky is your limit.

We have also teamed up with Bop Til You Drop  in 2016 and are now the Party Favour supplier for their events.  We are very excited to be working with them in 2017 to bring you some Custom Disco themed cookies along with an option of a fantastic Exclusive Cutter Design. Totes Excited!

The biggest news I have is that we have a NEW Website about to launch, currently www.cookiequeenkitschn.com.au points to our facebook business page that has been running for the past 7 years, but times have changed, things have grown, and we need to spend less hours on the tailored quotes that keep me up every night, many quotations can be above peoples expectations so....... we have designed some easy packages to help make the decisions easy to construct a Dessert Table.

Keep your eyes peeled.

Welcome to 2014! Happy New Year!!

Ring in the New Year!

I am starting out this new year with a bang, and hopefully one that continues throughout the coming year.  I am hoping to Blog 3 times per week now that I am a WAHM with a 4yo (who is starting preschool net week), and running my business from home which I found to be thriving in the 2nd half of 2013!

My 3 posts per week I am planning them to be :
  1. A traditional post of a foodie creation, a love, a challenge or a hot recipe I want to try.
  2. An Honest & Healthy Recipe - creating or replicating a 'healthy' creation to inspire you.
  3. A business post from something I have done from my WAHM biz - Cookie Queen Kitsch'n.

This year with juggling a few things in my day to day life I have decided to make my Blog Posts more achievable, and last year with the cookbook challenge I had an epic fail in the blogging department.  I just stretched myself too thin, and I didn't cook as much as I use to, with my partner cooking a lot, and a lot of easy meals of sausages & 3 veg or pre-prepared meals (takeaway). Putting on a lot of excess kilos in the process.  So I am hoping that this year's Blog will help me shed the kgs and get our family eating plan back.... for some reason Im the only one who put the pounds on though!
Here is flashback of my 2013 in photos, where I enjoyed 3 major family holiday trips (Great Ocean Road Trip in Victoria Australia), Cradle Moutain, Bechino & our Road Trip in Tasmania, and our 4 day Romantic Getaway in Fiji, plus all the work for my wonderful customers. 2 Standout Buffets with my daughter's 4th Birthday and my surrogate Sister in Law's Baby Shower, plus some other snippits.

New Year's Bloggie Resolution

I have decided on 3 main Bloggie Resolutions for 2013.... as some of you may remember I previously didn't really do resolutions.... but the ones I set in January 2012 worked out quite well for me.

So here it goes, lets kick this off with a couple for 2013 before we get into double figures this month and see how we go!

Before we begin, here's an insight into my December/January 2012 Book Loot, so far this year I have 7 so will let you know how I go.... was already on www.thebookdepository.co.uk last night for a squizz!

Resolution One:

Cookbook Challenge - One Recipe Per Month from a Cookbook and Cook It/Blog It.

Some Cookbooks on my list will include:
  1. Miette (San Francisco Bakery & Blog)
  2. Have You Eaten Yet? (I won as Runner up in Fancy Dressed at his Halloween Degustation Event in October)
  3. The Pioneer Woman (the one & only)
  4. Sprinklebakes (Heather Baird's new self titled Blog)
  5. Zumbarons (Adriano Zumbo - Macarons)
  6. Heston @ Home (The giant cookbook bought at his show last year)
  7. Marshmallow Madness (Shauna Sever's Blog cookbook I bought & been dying to try)
  8. The Cookie Dough Lovers Cookbook (Lindsay's new cookbook who co-ordinated the entire Bloggers Cookie Swap)
  9. ABC Delicious More Please and/or Home Cooking both by Valli Little (I have them all!!)
  10. Momofuku Milk Bar (on my hit list to buy for "Better Than Crack" Pie)
I am hoping to add many more, I am deeming 2013 The Year of the Cookbook! Why? Because they are beautiful, they inspire us, I love looking for new ones and the internet is making me enjoy them less than I should.... so I'm bringing back the Cookbook in all its glory, beauty and skill!

    Resolution Two :

Weekly Posting - To Blog weekly throughout the year, I have been a tad side tracked and possibly ... ha hmmm a bit slack in 2012 to how I wanted my regular posts to pan out.  So I will try my absolute darndest to Blog at least once a week. Gee that will be AAALOTTT of baking this year! Either I am going to have to call in assistance to eat OR I may end up the size of a small horse barn!

    Resolution Three :

Cookie Business - To increase my marketing throughout 2013. Polish up my Blog and incorporate my Personally Designed Cookies into it more frequently throughout this coming year.  I have kept my cookies in the background, and I hope to bring them to the foreground this year. First stop Valentine's Day it was the biggest week for Cookie Queen Kitsch'n last year, so fingers crossed we can grow that to even bigger & better things this year!

So lets jump into this year with both feet and see how we go! Im ready for an exciting adventure in the Cookie Queen Kitsch'n and I hope you join me the ride that I hope will be a thrill a minute! See you there!

It’s a New Year – Year of the Cookie!

Happy New Year to my beloved readers!
I am not a person that makes New Year Resolutions, ever! And this year will not be the exception. However I do have a To Do List. An extensive To Do List.

    • Year of The Cookie – I mean Business
    • Get Blog onto 3 collated pages
      - Home : Everyday Baking
      - Batter Up Kitsch’n Challenges (12 months, 12 Blogs, 12 Recipes, 12 Challenges – 1 Result)
      - Cookie Queen Kitsch'n - Cookie Business Promotion
    • Commence and stick to monthly Kitsch’n Challenges
    • Increase Market Sales
    • Get a Kitchen Cupboard just for cookie & cake decorating supplies
    • Organise Cookie Cutters so I know what I have
    • New Blog Header

In November I have started attending a Market and have a regular stall, the Market is the Artisan Fair, it took over from the Hide & Seek Market in Kellyville, it doesn’t appear to get alot of traffic like it use to, location seems to be a main factor as its a little off the main drag. So from February it is being relocated to the Castle Hill Showground the 3rd Sunday of every month, much better position so we’ll see how that goes in Feb and March.

Well January has kicked off a few orders already, I love new orders for new things, its so fun.

Here is this week’s Ballet Pointes for SJ Dancers for Registration Day for the Dance School at Moorebank, Sydney.

I should have some fabulous new recipes up in my coming posts, I just received a box of goodies from http://www.usafoods.com.au/ and with boxes of snickerdoodles, confetti cupcakes, canned caramelised apples and toasted marshmallow crème there are some wonderful treats ahead for you all.

Also I have lots of new cookie cutters, including :
    • Cinderella
    • Crowns & Tiara
    • Moustaches
    • Monkey head
    • Ballet Pointe
    • 3 different Ice Cream Cones
    • Mickey Mouse (2 profiles)
    • Chip and Dale
    • Macaw
    • 2 gorgeous sitting cats
    • Diamond Ring
    • Milk Bottle

And now I have started making my own unique cutters, can’t wait to try out some more. Here is one I just made:

Here are some of my latest cookies in the past month, take a sneak peek, any Christmas cookies can be adapted with different colourings eg ladybirds, Elves into clowns or gnomes, High heels in any colours sparkle or plain, Ballet Slipper to any colour to suit Dance School, Babushkas in any colour and of course Monograms on circles, squares, rectangles, hearts or plaques.
